According to the Centers for Disease Prevention, construction occupations have the highest rate of suicide, as well as the highest number of suicides across all occupational groups. To combat this, ABC Greater Tennessee President/CEO Clay Crownover has joined the TN Dept. of Health's Suicide Prevention Task Force and ABC National chairs the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention.

Please join us as we welcome the Executive Director of the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, Misty Leitsch for a briefing on how to see the signs, seek help and prevent suicides within the construction industry.

Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network

Misty Leitsch is currently serving at the Executive Director for the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network. Misty also works on the Clarksville Mayor’s challenge to prevent suicides among Service Members, Veterans, and their Families and chairs the Governor’s Challenge.  She currently serves on the board for the TN Firearm Safety Alliance, Montgomery County Veteran’s Coalition, Forward Flag, and several statewide initiatives. Misty is a certified trainer for QPR, ASIST, Safe TALK, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Adverse Childhood Experiences, safety planning and CSSRS. Misty is also a Psychological Autopsy Investigator. When not working, Misty enjoys various outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
